Hello,
First off, I have installed alarms in 2 other Honda Civic I have owned and I'm beginning to question how correct my installs have been. I have previously "cut, twist, and electrical taped" without any problems, but I finally have learned that this is the incorrect way to do things. Although I never had any problems with the above installations, I plan on doing it the correct way (with solder and heat shrink) with my "new" 1991 Honda Civic. I'm currently mapping/planning out my entire install so it goes 100% smooth as possible without any problems or with me "winging it".
I appreciate all the help! I have a few questions:
1)The Viper 5706V includes the "Remote Start, 10-pin heavy gauge connector" with wiring. Can I extend these wires to help hide my alarm brain (let's say I wanted to put it under the passenger seat), or should I keep the brain close to the ignition without extending the wires?
2)The "Remote Start, 10-pin heavy gauge connector" has the following connections:
1 NC No Connection
2 RED / BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT
3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY
4 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT
5 RED (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 INPUT
6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
8 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT
9 RED / WHITE (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87
10 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT
Are all of them used if my vehicle calls for the following:
12 VOLT CONSTANT       WHITE/ BLACK (+)       @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
STARTER       BLACK/ WHITE (+)       @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
STARTER 2       N/A
IGNITION 1       BLACK / YELLOW (+)       @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2       N/A
IGNITION 3       N/A
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 1       YELLOW (+)       @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 2       BLUE/WHITE (+)       @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Which ones can I ignore/de-pin?
3)In my previous installs, I "T-tapped" into the stock wiring (Which I now know is incorrect). What is the best way to attach the Accessory, Ignition, and Power connector wires to the stock wiring? Do I have to cut them?
4)(might be part of question 2) In my previous installs, I ran all the Viper ignition wires to the 1 stock ignition wire, and all power wires to the 1 stock ignition wire. Do we have to do this? This seems silly. Why didn't Viper just create 1 Power wire and split them to the correct pin insides the harness/device?

1) Preferable to keep near, on later Civics I find behind the gauge cluster to be optimum. I did a late 90s Integra this week, all in driver side kick panel.
2) De-pin PINK/BLACK
3) Strip the originals by 1/2", open with a probe thread your wires through then solder, cover with Scotch 33+ or Scotch 88.
4) Done that way for different reasons, e.g. some cars, BMW and some Toyota have multiple 12 V+ constants and it's easier to go one on one. In your case bring down to one wire after the fuses by soldering as above then 8/9 mm (3/8") shrink sleeving.
A slight point, the "1 stock ignition wire" strictly speaking isn't an ignition wire it's the (WHITE) 12V+ constant in the ignition loom.

I appreciate the detailed response...
1) Thank You! I'll find a good place nearby.
2) Just the "3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY" wire? What about the Pink/White, RED / White wires since I don't have an 2nd ignition? Also, do the Red and Pink wire do pretty much the same thing (with the exception of one being an input and output?)
3)Thanks. I'll cut the Start wire and strip the others.
4) Do you probe the exact same wires through the same point? or should i attach at different points on the stock wiring?
Thanks again. De-pinning my alarm now and hope to start the next nice day.

Point 2, the Civic has TWO ACC WIRES.
Orange powers ACC1, PINK/WHITE powers ACC2
In the programming Menu 3 if I remember you can change the PINK/WHITE from IGN 2 to ACC2.
Do NOT split the orange, you might damage the vehicle electrics under normal running.
