confirm 2007 subaru outback and cm7200?

Hi all, Merry Christmas! I'm looking for some confirmation; I bought a Compustar CM7200, Blade-AL, and an ADS-AL, all to install in my 2007 Subaru Outback (an auto 2.5 SOHC). The person I bought the bits from flashed and programmed everything for me, and I wanted to do the installation myself. The ADS-AL is used as a transponder bypass. I've connected the nine wires up as shown in the document on the idatalink website. The Blade-AL is used as a doorlock interface, and I've connected up those six wires (through the CM7200 controller). On the CM7200, CN7 goes to the ADS-AL, CN8 for the thermister, and CN10 goes to the antenna. Finally, the controller has been wired into the high current ignition harness. I'm not using CN3, CN6, CN9, CN11, CN12, CN13, or CN14. I snip the green wire inside. I have yet to install the hood pin (is it required?), but my question is pertaining to the CN5 connections. Do I need to use any pins on CN5 since the Blade-AL and ADS-AL are tapped into the CAN bus? Is it really that easy? I haven't tried powering anything yet, so there may be more questions coming. Might have some bad news for you.  The ADS AL-CA w/AL(TB) SUB you are using for the transponder bypass will require additional KLON programming.  This extra step uses the ADS USB cable and access to the iDatalink Flash WEB server to finish the programming.

you'll need it for parking lights, and if you want to add defrost you could. dont forget the horn. did you buy yourself an ads-usb? You need it for the key programming, unless you're going to bring it back to whoever you bought it from.Ted

Thanks for the replies! From what I understand it is a simple RS232 comm, level shifted to 12v. I think I have a cable that does that somewhere... Is it worth nothing that I can't see a (TB) anywhere on the box? This is what I have: P/N: ADS-AL CA SW: ADS-AL(DL)-CH4 2.5 HW: AL (64) 1.24 DATE: 2014-08-19 The 2007MY was the first to have been factory wired for their OEM remote start--and it is there, the 24pin connector is just taped to the aide under my steering wheel. I've been tracing over the OEM harness, which even includes wires to a hood pin connector in the car (the two pin harness is already there). I want to double check the polarity because I have a suspicion that it may be reverse to what the controller expects, but can I simply tap into that harness as opposed to chasing down 10 different connectors? I'll post my findings. If I can source the mating connector(s) I might even have a 100% reverseable solution!

DL stands for Door Lock, TB stands for Transponder Bypass. Ugh... I can't flash one kind of module to another can I? Is the Blade configurable to be a TB of DL interface? Feeling silly.

The Blade AL is a cartridge that slides into a docking port of the CM7200.   Looks like this :

You should use that for the DL firmware ( convenience,locks, etc ). 

The ADS AL CA will be flashed with the TB SUB firmware.  The white sticker on the box indicates the firmware that was flashed at the factory.  Hopefully, the seller flashed the correct firmware for you but no one ever updates those white stickers.  Remember that for Subaru's, bypassing the transponder is a KLON process that requires the ADS USB cable again.  Here is a link to the install guide (See Page 15 for the steps ) :  http://cdncontent2.idatalink.com/corporate/Content/Manuals/TB-SUB/ADS-AL(TB)-SUB-EN_20141211.pdf

Yup, I know what the blade is :) I did a bunch more reading today through all the manuals and constructed an Excel chart of what I needed. I got all the other wires connected up and all the status lights are showing a happy, healthy system. I programmed my remote up (a w901ss) and the locks work great! I don't have the ADSUSB cable yet (on order), but I'm happy with my progress and buttoned up the car for now. I grappled with buying the cable vs. asking to borrow one, but I haven't connected up aux outputs that I know I will want in the future (ie. defroster + windshield heater output). Having the cable to change the settings would be nice!

Well, looks like I need an OP500 to change those setting... time to find a friendly neighbour or installer with one :)
