2003 olds bravada dlpkgm/avital 4103

I have a new install of a dlpkgm with an avital 4103 remote starter in a 2003 oldsmobile bravada. The remote starter activates, but does not crank the starter. I have 12v+ to the starter wire, but it doesn't attempt to crank over the engine. The remote start keypads only lock, but will not unlock the doors. I am new to this, if anyone could let me know if I am missing something or any help would be appreciated. A few thoughts:

It would appear that you are attempting to go D2D with the Avital 4103.  That is probably OK, bu there is a special procedure

to follow to ensure that the 4 Pin ESP /D2D port is set to the DBI D2D mode.

 Avital /  Python BitWriter/ESP to DBI mode port change over.

To use as D2D mode follow the below steps:

1. Remove all power from the Avital R/S brain. 2. Make sure Avital's WHITE/ Blue activation wire is grounded.3. Power the unit up. The system LED flashes for 5 seconds to confirm DBI D2D mode change.4. Remove the WHITE/ Blue wire from ground.  ( Do this cleanly, without pulsing the WHITE/ Blue wire.)

While it is some extra wire connections, a lot of people go with the W2W method when using the Avital 4103 due to post-

install issues.  If the D2D connection does not work properly, switch over to W2W.

According to ReadyReote ( DEI ), the Brown ACC2 ignition wire must be correctly powered during a remote start.  You will

need some extra parts to accomplish this.  Purchase a 30/40 Amp SPDT relay, an inline fuse holder and a 20 Amp fuse.  Hereis the wiring :Relay Pin 85 to Avital  ORANGE  (-) ACCESSORY OUTPUT on the 4-pin satellite harnessRelay Pins 86 and 87 to +12V constant through the 20 Amp fuseRelay Pin 30 to the Bravada Brown ACC2 wire @ the ignition switch harness

DLPKGM wiring :

The only issue here is the DLPKGM Door Trigger Output going to the Avital Lock Output wire.  Your Avital 4103 is not an alarm system nor a remote start system designed for manual transmission vehicles.  As such, there is no need for a Door Trigger wire connection.  ( Door Trigger wires give the open/closed status of a door, they have nothing to do with the Lock or Unlock functions.)  Disconnect this wire.  The DLPKGM Door Trigger wire will not be used and the D2D connection between the Avital 4103 and the DLPKGM will handle the Lock command.

Sequentially, I would make the DLPKGM wiring change, add the extra relay for ACC2, make the Avital D2D port change

and then reprogram the DLPKGM to the vehicle.  Hopefully that will take care of all the problems.

Can't remember if that year Bravada had "on-touch-starting" and built in anti-grind.  If it does, Virtual Tach should be OK.

Otherwise, program the AVital 4103 to Tach Mode and do the Tach Learn process.  The DLPKGM is providing the Tach signal.

It is working perfectly. I was able to use it in the D2D mode. Not a big deal if I had to hook it up w2w, but it's good to know if I use the D2D wiring and I have trouble in the future. I really appreciate the help, Thanks again.
