Remote Start on 2010 Grand Caravan

Hello all, i am having a problem I have the following: 2010 grand caravan, dball, python 574 remote starter,CHTHD1 T-Harness. At Expresskit it says to use Type 1 install for my van.It has 2 options, type1a r7 & type1b r1-r6. The harness package i got says CHTHD1 (rev7) so i assumed i use type1a r7 install, so did. I installed as follows: -harness to ignition -harness to dball 14 pin -harnessPinkWire ^ remote ign.input/out -dball12pin:Vio/Gr&Vio/Br^wh/br light sw -12 pin:yel/bl^vio wire in kick panel -D2D cable to remote -+12v from remote to battery -hood switch connected -safety switch grounded/not plug to dbll -black from remote grounded Tach,shock sensor, siren not connecting It is flashed, paired, and programmed Lock/unlock works but not start, start error on 2 way remote and 8 flashes of parking light. I tried safe switch both on and off, but same. What is wrong and also do you know what the R7 and R1-R6 for harness means? Did i do right with type1a R7 install or do i use the R1-R6? I checked expresskit and found no explanation for the r7and r1-r6. Do i need to have shock sensor and siren hooked up for it to work? If so the shock sensor has a plug and 1 end of the green wires is loose, does that go to ground? Sorry so long, but wife keeps on me to get hef starter donem thanks. TomTom

ground your BLACK/ white neutral safety wire, go into programming 3 and change it from manual to automatic. that should do itTed

well i just got back inside from trying your suggestions. the WHITE/ bl wire is grounded and i switched over to automatic in program 3. same thing is going on. no start with 8 flashes. am i doing the right install with the T-Harness? Type 1a R7. or am i suppose to use Type 1b R1-R6? and do you know what the R7 and R1-R6 means? thank you, tomTom

8 flashes indicates neutral safety error: 1) Verify you have a solid ground on BLACK/ white (-) 24pin connector 2) Plug in Neutral safe switch and keep it on the ON position. - Personally i always just cut the switch off, and solder the two ends together. your install type is correct. Temporarily connect the siren, so during programming you know exactly what menu your in. The led flashes are ample if you're experienced with DEI; if not you can easily loose count, and end up programming a wrong setting.Ted

I really appreciate your help and knowledge. After triple checking i took the remote startet out and opened it up since i didv everything correctly with your verification and a solder connection on the pcb was loose and so i resoldered it. Wouldnt you know it all was good. Everything works Thank youTom

That's the first time I've heard of a bad solder joint on a Directed product. Glad you go it working though !Ted
