Hello everyone. Newbee here. Stumped on wiring Viper 211HV keyless entry in my 2000 Subaru Forester with factory electric door locks but no factory keyless entry. The problem is; when I hit lock on the fob, the doors quickly lock and then unlock. And when hitting unlock on the fob when the doors are unlocked the brain relays give out multiple clicks before settling down and all the door lock solenoids cycle as trying to unlock (of course they are already unlocked). The horn chirp with 2 unlock fob clicks and panic works (horn chirping and parking lights flash) as well as the dome light supervision and parking light flash. Just the locks are a problem. The lock and unlock wires on the Forester lock and unlock the doors when grounded. The lock and unlock switches also work. I've tried all combos I can think of. Any ideas?
I have it wired as follows:
Viper 2000 Subaru Forester S    Function
Red    BLACK/ whiteUnswitched Power
Blue   unused
BLACK/ white 1        Yellow     Dome light suprvis
BLACK/ white  Ground     Ground
GREEN/ black  RED / white Lock
WHITE/ Black  unused
Violet/black Ground     Ground
Blue/black Yellow/red Unlock
Violet Ground     Ground
White Purple     Parking light flsh
Black Ground     Ground
Brown RED / green Horn
Lt GREEN/ black        unused
WHITE/ blue unused
Yellow BLACK/ blue Switched Power
Orange unused
BROWN / black  unused
RED / white unused

Disclaimer: A friend of mine's wife has a Forrester. I've seen it in their garage. That's as close to a Forrester as I've ever been. I'm very familiar with the 211, however. I looked up wiring diagrams for your car, and you have the correct lock/unlock wires. The connections look fine, It should work.
I would first try this:
Unplug the harness from the 211.
Rig a jumper to a chassis ground.
Touch the grn/blk wire in the harness with the jumper. Locks should lock.
Touch the blu/blk wire in the harness with the jumper. Locks should unlock.
If the locks operate correctly with the jumper, then it's something with the programing in the 211. Review the options and settings.
It MAY be something internally with the 211, but this is doubtful.
And a last WAG would be to confirm that the wires are in the correct positions in the harness plug. Verify the wires to the pin-out guide. If you went by the wire color on the 211 and didn't verify that the harness was pinned correctly when it was built, this is worth checking. But it's only a Wild Ass Guess.
There's some ideas. According to the info I have ( I don't use "wiring guides", I look at actual diagrams) you did it correctly.

The above condion sounds like either a door isn't properly closed, a faulty door trigger switch thinks it isn't closed or a motor is out of alignment.

Thanks for the ideas. Back to basics. Unplugged the harness to the 211 and grounded the GREEN/ back wire and it locked all doors and held it there. Then grounded the blue/black wire and it unlocked all doors. So we know the wires to the harness are ok. I disconnected the blue/black unlock wire from the car but left the GREEN/ black connected and the doors locked correctly using the fob. Of course the didn't unlock. Reconnected the blue black wire and the rapid unlock recurred after pushing the lock fob. However I did discover something strange with the 211 connected. Turn the key and open a door and close it and the door open icon on the dash stays lit until the dome lamp 30 second delay is done and then the open door icon on the dash goes out along with the dome light. I'll disconnect the dome light supervision and retry. Then the parking light connection and retry. Then the horn connection and retry and report back. All the functions are working correctly except the door locks so Its probably not the wiring to these features, but trying to eliminate gremlins one at a time.

Sounds like a faulty door trigger. If the dome and indicator icon stay on after you lock the door with the key, then that's your problem. Faulty door trigger, car body control or lock module thinks a door's open and won't let it lock.

place a diode on the dome supervision wire in the car. Power the lights and dont let it backfeed into the car.
That should solve your issue.

Great suggestion. What capacity diode do you recommend? I'm not experienced in installing diodes. Would you mind providing details on where to install a diode in the dome light supervision circuit? Would it be between the 211 and the door trigger or between the 211 and the door supervision ground? Which direction would the diode be connected? Is it installed in parallel to the wire or do I cut the wire and install the diode in series? Thanks very much.

This car doesn't have a body controller.
There's still something that doesn't make sense. You stated you do not have factory RKE. If this is true,
It doesn't have a dome light timer or dimmer.
It doesn't have a lock controller.
The locks and dome lights are normal, no electronics or logic involved. It will not do what you're describing.
UNLESS it is equipped with factory Remote Keyless Entry.
I see a connection between the car's yellow dome light supervision wire and the factory RKE.
I think your car IS equipped with the factory RKE module, and this is causing your problems.
Find it, and unplug the module.
Jumper blu/wht pin 6 to RED / grn pin 10 to restore the driver door un-lock.
Leave everything you've done the way it is. It will work with the factory RKE module removed, and jumpered as I described.
