Hello all! I know this has been posted before, but the relevant discussions seem to be a few years old for the most part, So I'd like to gather a few fresh opinions.
I’m looking for some information on bypass/data interface modules. I’m going to be installing an Easycar EP400 on my 2012 Civic EX. I chose this system mainly because:
1. It uses proximity-based “smartkeys”
2. The aesthetics of the start button
3. It’s not a DEI product
I’m planning on a D2D installation to minimize labor, but haven’t attempted one before, so I’m not familiar with the bypass/interface modules. From what I’ve gathered so far:
1. The all seem to be about $40-$60 on amazon.
2. They all have about the same features –Immobilizer bypass, door locks, hood/trunk pin, etc…
3. They all require programming through a special programmer (about $30-$40, or by the seller)
4. There is a lot of hate towards anything DEI produces.
Here are the ones I’ve been looking at:
iDataLink Multi ADS-ALCA
IDataLink Solo ADS-DLSL CA2
Fortin EVO-ALL
Flashlogic (Audiovox) FLCAN
XpressKit DBALL2 (DEI)
So far, I’m leaning towards the iDataLink Multi, but wanted to reach out and see if anyone here had experience with or opinions on any of these. I’m looking for ease of flashing/programming, interfacing with the Easycar EP400, reliability, and clear hookup instructions.

I think I can be of assistance to you on this, but I have a few questions.
First are you sure that the EASYCAR system is D2D compatiable? I did not find an installation manual on line, but I didn't look real hard.
All good choices for installation as far as modules go. The ADS products as well as the Flashlogic modules will require a login to flash their modules which you have to contact Idatalink and they will verify that you are a dealer and not an end user.
The Fortin product only requires you to have a login if you need to update the module, they are also pre-loaded for most vehicle unless you need to make changes to the options.
No matter which module you choose each of the modules require that the door locks be hardwired.
I would be certain that the system offers d2d connectivity before you get to far into it.

Hi RS- Thanks for the reply.
I did some further research, and I'm pretty sure the Easycar system is not D2D compatible- I don't see any kind of data output on the diagram. (its here: http://www.selectmarkettrading.com/manual---downloads.html)
SO to do a W2W setup, I can wire the outputs from the alarm directly to the inputs of the interface, correct? If I can make the majority of the connections (other than the door locks you mentioned) outside of the car it will still be a big time saver. (I decided on the iDataLink ALCA, vendor will flash it)

That is correct, you can use w2w on any install. Be sure to test every wire. Specially the door locks. Install is pretty straight forward. Be sure they flash it for the appropriate firmware and they let you know which install guide you will need.
