Peugeot 406 HDI 2001 central locking wiring

Hi to all, I have a problem with Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 2001 yr D9. I need to retrofit aftermarket alarm/remote door locking to existing car infrastructure, due to problem with my remote keyfob-plip. Peugeot dealers ask too much for new remote so I wanted to give a try to aftermarket solution first. It is not a big problem with retrofitting alarm itself, I'm pretty good with electronics, I hope I will manage it. First I wanted to be sure how it works at all, so I explored central locking system first. Car is full muxed and has BSI unit, so there is no separate central locking unit. All doors can be locked/unlocked via key or mechanical button on driver's or passenger's doors. I stripped down door's cards and check central locking actuator. It has 6 wires, where trouble begins... According to Autodata wiring, it should be 5 wires. Nevermind that. I checked role of each wire. Here it is by pins: 1 - door contact switch negative(open contact-door closed) 2 - ground 3,5 - motor power supply 4 - unlock pin 6 - lock pin (should be?) I also disconnected whole actuator appliance and checked for pinouts. When door are closed, 1 & 2 are short. When doors are locked, 2 & 6 are short. When doors are unlocked, 2 & 4 are short. Furthermore, I can simulate unlocking if I short 2 & 4. But I can't simulate locking if I make short 2 & 6. I also tried with some resistance, like 1Kohm, 2.2 Kohm, 10 Kohm, but no success. Does anyone have any clue or idea? I must notice that central locking works ok if I use mechanical "button" on door or key in barrel. I just can't simulate locking. Thanx in advance.

Nasty, nasty cars to work on. Find the BSI module, one plug, this has the motor wires when you lock and unlock. In fact standby I'll do a diagram! Most auto electricians in the UK won't touch French or Italian cars especially Peugeot/Citroen.

Thank you so much! So you suggest to go directly to BSI connectors? I thought I can took signal somewhere from wiring loom coming from drivers door, to avoid messing with BSI. I will check this as soon it stops raining here :) I still don't understand that car... What is the reason I can unlock but can't lock? DOes it has some pulse signal or what? Good car, but electricity on it is nightmare... Thanx once again!

Peugeots are a complete nightmare, never use colour codes, they chop and change their colours every month. Awful build quality, terrible electrics. Half the problems, windows, locks and mirrors not working; Look inside the tubes going into the doors, you will find broken wires. The 307 was only marketed for 2 years, do you know why? Rain collected at bottom of windscreen leaked into car straight onto BSI box!

Yes, I see it everyday :) Generally, HDI engine is great, reliable, robust, especially if it has Bosch fuel system. On the other hand, having such electricity, it is really awful. And finally, 406 is the latest good Peugeot they made in this century :) One question: I found lick unlock wires in door. Aren't they the very same wires on BSI connector? Or there is something "between" I am missing? I googled for last 10 days, found many different schematics for fitting alarms into Pug 406, but I couldn't find a clue why is it that way... Once again, I took 6-pin connector off from door actuator. I simulated lock and unlock with key in door barrel. Found which contacts are for unlock and lock. When I test them in live (by connecting wires), only one way is working. If I try with key in barrel, it works both way! It look like some french engineer made it deliberately to make life harder :)

Yes, I understood. I have to check directly at BSI, not to trust what is in door. I will try to rely on Autodata wiring codes first, hope they are enough correct. Will check as soon as weather allow that. Thank you so much once again. Cheers!

Not wiring codes, pin or terminal numbers are what you're looking for.

Yes, I understood. As I remember, on schematics it is marked in connector/pin order, like B10, for example - connector B, pin 10.
