Hello friends, I’m looking for some help confirming the wiring connections between the remote start and bypass/interface module. I’m using an IDatalink ADS-AL CA module with an Easycar EP400 alarm/remote starter. It is being installed in a 2012 Honda Civic EX, 4dr Sedan, automatic with standard key and audio system.
Easycar manual: http://www.selectmarkettrading.com/manual---downloads.html
Idatalink manual: http://cdncontent2.idatalink.com/corporate/Content/Manuals/DL-HA3/ADS-AL(DL)-HA3-EN_20150925.pdf
I have a few of the connections figured, but the language on the two manuals doesn't quite sync up, so I'd like if someone could help fill in the planks for me. I used the supplied template to list the connections:
      https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OEzQV6ajmjlSRK5tAfzTF1pNDSj48uVY4tJnVMJncxo/edit?usp=sharing
On the interface module:
1. The interface has a combined LOCK/ARM wire, but separate UNLOCK and DISARM wires. I cant find a DISARM on the remote start, should I just splice it in with the UNLOCK wire?
2. The interface diagram shows a +12v wire and a GROUND connected directly to the RS unit, is this necessary or can it be connected to any constant +12 and chassis ground?
3. Trunk input on interface- what do I connect it to?
4. What is GWR on the module, and what does it connect to?
5. DOOR/TRUNK/HOOD STATUS OUTPUT on the module. Do these connect to the respective TRIGGER INPUTS on the RS?
6. BRAKE STATUS OUTPUT on the module connect to FOOT BRAKE INPUT on the RS?
On the Remote Start, there are a few wires I’m unfamiliar with:
1. CN3/5 - TRUNK RELEASE OUTPUT – does this need to be connected, or is it handled through the interface?
2. CN3/3 /8 - PARKING LIGHT OUTPUT – same question?
3. CN4/2 - PARKING LIGHT INPUT apparently the system is capable of paging you if you leave your lights on. I don’t see needing this feature since I don’t have the 2-way model. Can I skip this connection?
4. CN3/9 - STATUS/BYPASS - does this need to be connected, or is it handled through the interface?
5. CN3/4 /7 – KEY TRIGGER OUTPUT – what is this? Says something about auto escort light? Never heard of it.
6. CN9/3 – STARTER KILL – Where to connect this?
7. CN9/5 AUTO LIGHT CONTROL OUTPUT – Again, I’m not sure what this is, or if I need it.

My honest first thought would be dump the Easycar unit, rarely known one to work but anyway here goes.
This is the idatalink unit you need to use ADS-AL(DL)-HA3
Assuming auto transmission.

Just looking at the idatalink diagram, the ADS module operates lock unlock via the vehicle CAN system so:-
1) Not relevant.
2) Yes but fused 5 amp.
All your answers are found on the diagram, wire as D2D and good luck.

From Easycar to relay 85, cut wire, from above to 87a
trunk side to 30
12V+ fused 15 amp to 86 and 87.
diode, 1N4004 across coil, band side to 86.

MUST BE HARDWIRED FROM EASYCAR TO ADS
Use ADS type 2 diagram. Study it it answers nearly all of your questions.
Set parking lights to NEG. CN4 input don't use.
Status bypass = GWR.
Ignore your last 3 questions for now.

Hi Howie- Thanks for the guidance! I went with the Easycar as it is the only system I found with proximity-based smart keys and push to start. IF I can't get it working, I'll certainly look into other systems.
I probably should have mentioned, I'm doing a W2W installation, as the Easycar doesn't seem to be compatible with D2D. This is a big help though, Thanks!

That's fine, W2W = hardwire. Easycar much cheaper but honestly you get what you pay for.
