I'm trying to install the alert 750r into my (1997 Mazda 626, 4cyl, manual tranny), and having issues. I'm programming the remote per start feature chart #2, and itll start every time as long as I'm in program mode, but once I hit the lock button to exit programming, it won't start the car again. Just shows up the little satellite icon and thats it, doesnt turn ignition at all. If I stay in program mode, itll start every time. Am I just missing something? At wits end with this and ready to get the car back together.
Steps taken:
I turn key on and off 3 times. On 3rd time leave off, push valet button 10 times and hold on 10th time til I hear the beeps. Push the lock and unlock buttons on remote at same time, get 2 beeps for tach mode. Start car and hold valet button til I get beep and led for 2 seconds. Then I kill the engine to check level. Push start button twice and engine starts fine. Push twice again and kills engine. Press the lock button to exit programming mode, get 3 beeps and 3 flashes. All should work now, correct? Unfortunately it doesn't. Won't start car again unless I go back into program mode. I just don't know what to do. Please help.

I installed one of these many years ago on an automatic. Are you following the procedure for starting the Manual Transmission?   Owner's manual link:
http://www.hivolume.com/documentation/427/750ShelbyOwnersManual.pdf
Please refer to pages 19 & 20. Hope this helps.

I appreciate you chiming in. I have actually performed step B on page 19 many times, once more just now on my way home from work. Maybe I'm reading it wrong or something? But after I perform that step, press the lock button, the engine shuts down as it should. I can push the start button twice after that, and it works as it should and will continue to work until I open the door, then it stops working again.

Still tinkering with it, but I noticed this morning on my way into work, that if I have the key in the ignition with car running, and I press the start button on the transmitter, the module clicks like its trying to start or stop the engine. If the car isnt running, the module does not click at all using the transmitter unless im in program mode as mentioned above. Ive double checked all my power wires, etc, but i have to be missing something simple.

Im such a dip. Took me about 50 times reading that section in the owners manual on operating with manual tranny. Ive had it hooked up correctly and working all along. I just didnt realize that step in the manual was going to have to be performed every time I get out of the car if im wanting to remote start it. I was totally reading that wrong. Thanks for the input!
