with everything going on with the dei smartstart right now we are starting to look at maybe carrying code alarm in order to get away from all the issues they are about to have and not only that but a lot of us at work are having nothing but issues with the smart start app. so im looking for input on codealarm we cannot carry compustar cause there are 2 dealers within a 1.5 miles of us just looking for suggestions on codealarm or any other units out there that might be worth picking up.

Code Alarm offers Car Connection Pro as an alternative to smart start. Also consider the Prestige line from Audiovox--also works with car connection pro. Good solid systems with nice remotes. Avox just updated their line...smaller brains, thin remotes with decent range, added features, slightly better documentation.
Never used Compustar/Drone combo, but many on this forum have also spoken highly of the Compustar products.

I sell prestige and code alarm. No issues at all. I like the prestige remotes better than code. Customers LOVE them. They also just came out with a blade dock system like compustar. One brain program remotes and functions. With a on board dock for a flcan(blade). I have not got my hands on one yet. But I do have them on order. I highly recommend the prestige stuff. I use them more than code but I use code for the entry level stuff like the one button start. The car connection is a good system just not as popular as the smart start. EVERYONE calls it a smart start. Kinda like band aid is a brand of bandage.

They have the ability to update software and program features either before or after install.   It requires a laptop and a VEPROG interface dongle.
