I have had the intelliguard 700IQ for years, in and out of several cars. Just recently I had to replace the brain. Luckily I found one online andhave made the swap....here comes the problem.  Since swapping, the alarm does not recognize when the doors are open and it auto arms it when I am unloading things from the car.

If I arm with a door open, the alarm goes off right of way, and as mentioned if a door is left open when disarmed, it will auto arm as if the door is closed and then immediately go off.

I recalled something with an older Clifford Alarm that you had to tell the brain what type door trigger your car has, is this true with the 700 also? (possibly the car the old brain was in was set differently) Everything worked fine with the old brain except it did not recognize remotes. And it seems everything but this door issue is fine with the new brain.

help??? Much thanks to anyone that can lend a hand,

Randy Peterson

Is there a way to tell a clifford intelliguard 700 IQ alarm whether or not the car has neg or pos triggers. I have recently replaced my brain and since then, car does not recognize the doors properly.  When arming with a door open, it automatically sets the alarm off. When arming with door closed, everything is fine. And if i am unloading with a door open, the alarm auto arms after 30 seconds and triggers right of way.

Anyone with some insight? My ancient Clifford alarm had an installer option that told the brain whether i had pos or neg door trigges, does this one have this option? if so, how do i switch it?

thanks so much. -- Randy
