I've installed several remote starts, this is the first time I've seen this issue. Virtual tach/voltage sense do not work properly, (pretty typical) with the tach wire installed and programed it starts just fine, and dies within 30 seconds. It'll die twice, and stay running on the third try. When it shuts itself down it gives the "over rev" code but the vehicle doesn't rev, in fact the idle settles down when it dies. But every time it gives an over rev code. Any idea on what causes this, or how to fix/reprogram this to work?
It's on a 95 Lincoln Mark viii (4.6 cobra motor 32 valve) I tied the tach wire into one of (4) tan striped wires on the coil.

Is the vehicle in good running condition? Does the idle speed seem high to you? I came across this on Google: http://forums.tccoa.com/7-engine-4-6l-5-4l/129973-1995-mark-viii-fast-idle-problem.html
If everything is in working order, try relearning the tach immediately after starting the engine cold (before idle speed settles) and see if that helps.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

The vehicle runs great! Always starts with the key, never dies out. I did relearn the tach 2 or 3 times, first time while it was warm, then went out first thing in the morning and relearned it at its highest idle. But it'll still shut off and give me the over rev code
