Would I need a relay to make the trunk release work properly? Anybody have the same issue with there Mazda and prostart starter?
My factory alarm is not working properly, going off when I use the remote starter. I can't control my factory alarm with my prostart remote, right now the prostart is not hardwired to the factory alarm. Hopefully it will work properly once its hardwired.
Also if I lock the car with my factory remote the lcd screen on the prostart remote doesn't let me know the status of the lock. If i lock the door it still shows as open on the prostart remote. Not sure if thats normal?
I had the remote starter installed a while ago and its never worked properly. I realy need the alarm issue fixed, also im using a idatalink ads-tb 16 bypass.

You need to 5 wire the trunk wire using a relay, and Yes normal that the Prostart will have no idea if the car is locked if you use the factory remote. You will need to use the disarm on the Prostart to disarm oem alarm. (*Pick one, and don't use both.. Use either the Prostart to unlock/lock or use the factory remote*)

Ok I got the arm/disarm hardwired, I can now arm the car now with the remote starter. The horn dosen't honk like on the factory remote tho.
I can't get the trunk release to work, I got the relay wired up. I can hear the relay be activated when I press the trunk release button but its still not working.
Any ideas?
