Idatalink HC2 has no range

so its been 2 months since i installed my Idatalink HC2 2way remote start in my 2003 chevy cavalier auto. Everything was working fine and just recently ou tof no where i lost all range...rendering the device usless...i can be in my apartment wich is maybe 200f away from the car and nothing will happen when i press lock or unlock or start on the remote fob all i get is the light...what usually happens and was working fine b 4 was i would press the start and it would beep and then beep and flash indicating the car has started now nothing...i get Zero response from the car when i press any buttons on my fob up untill i get 5 feet away from the car then everything starts to work as it should...anyideas?

You should certainly try changing the batteries in the remote as a first step. Also, consider anything that's been done to your car, and I mean anything. Tint is an obvious one, but anything that's been modified have caused a fluke issue, like a power wire running alongside your antenna. The next thing I would consider is your location. You described the issue at home, are you experiencing the same problem elsewhere? A neighbor may have just gotten an RF device that's causing a problem. Also putting the antenna outside the car, like on the roof, temporarily, to see if something is blocking the signal. Beyond those issues, I personally wouldn't test much further before I just replaced first the remote, then the antenna. If that solves your problem, warranty your remote kit.

its doing it to both remotes that came with the system. yesterday i removed the batteries from the fobs, unplugged the module and disconnected the battery from the car and let it sit for a hr. put everythign back together and still nothing. As for recent mods there has been nothing done to the car since it has been installed, same as its always been. Ill try all the other things you said and go from there.

K well ive narrowed it down to sumthign in my appartment building is messing with it...works perfectly fine in the real world...i started and locked my car from 2 blocks down with no issues from work...any way to address this? asides from going door to door in my appartment building saying "hey what did u get new in the recent 3 days that is wireless? and can u get rid of it?" dont think they would comply...can the rf frequency be changed?

Not much you can do. I've had customers who've had this problem and choosing a different parking space can help. You may be parking right under a new wireless surveillance camera for example. 50-100 feet could make all the difference. Barring that, Drone Mobile is your answer.
