Hi all,
Truck info: 07 Silverado 1500 (new body style)
-Items installed:
-Python remote start (Python 5206)
-Bypass module (DBALL2)
This remote start was installed about 6 moths ago and it was working great till now.
The issue: Truck will no longer start using the Python remote transmitter. When I send the remote start command to the truck, it powers up dashboard like it should but as soon as is it tries to crank the starter, accessory power goes away from dash and the remote/receiver beeps as the attempt to turn on truck has failed.
I also have a 2008 Silverado Duramax 3500 that is having the same issue. This truck has the identical set up as the 07 above.
-Python remote start (Python 5206)
-Bypass module (DBALL2).
The remote start was installed about 10 months ago and it was working great till about a month ago.
Where should I start looking/testing?
Thanks in advance.

Check the shutdown diagnostics.
Press and hold the control button, then put the key in and turn it to the "run" position, then back off. Release the control button, then press and release it one more time. Count how many times the LED flashes.

After checking the shutdown diagnostics, it reported 5 flashes. 5 flashes indicate: (+) Brake shutdown. With this information, I went ahead and replaced the brake light switch P/N D1586H. Now the 07 Silverado remote start works every single time.
I also checked the shutdown diagnostics on the 08 Silverado 3500, and it indicated the same as the 07 Silverado. I haven't replaced the brake light on the 08 Silverado yet, but I'm sure it's going to fix it as well.
Once I replace it, I'll reply back.
Thank you kaezoo.

Update: after replacing the brake light switch on the 08 Silverado 3500, remote start works every single time. 😄
Thanks again kaezoo.
