Good evening,
I have a 2013 Sonata with Standard key that only has the factory alarm and a Viper 4105V remote starter. In the last week it has been acting weird, the alarm or the panic alarm goes off randomly. I know these things are notorious for bad hood switches, but this happens while you are driving. The alarm horn goes off and the lights flash. I know one of the remotes stopped functioning around the time this started happening, I removed the batteries to be sure it wasn't tripping the panic alarm, still happened. I removed the two 30A fuses from the remote start, this seemed to solve the problem until 3 days later when it happened again, this time the car was off and wouldn't start. Brought the car back to the guy that installed the R/S, they swear there is nothing in their system (it has worked for almost a year). Any suggestions as to where to look? I have been out of doing these things for about 10 years and am just trying to fix my daughters car. Any suggestions appreciated.
