Hi All,
I have received a ton of help from this forum during my installion of Viper5204V remote starter in my 2006 Honda Odyssey EXL. Pasted below is the thread if anyone is looking for similar help (https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=140396&tpn=1). Hence reachin out to you again for an issue Im stuck at.
I have been happily using the remote start for many years and recently I noticed that it only cranks, but not starting the engine. I have no clue on what to look at. All other functionalities are working fine. Already tried the hood pin switch, Neutral safety switch and those appears to be correct. There are no parking light flashes indicating any problem.
When I try to remotely start, it just cranks as if it is going to start, but then it doesnt. How ever I have no issues in manually starting the van. What could be the issue?
Can anyone shed some light on which area I should be focusing on? What should be the sequence of the diagnosis?
Regards,
Paul

If you disconnect the key-in sense lead and leave your key in the ignition, does it remote start?

Thanks for your response.
I tried the below steps:
1. Started the car manually and was able to stop it using the remote starter.
2. Then I left the Key in the ignition without turning the key and was able to start the van using remote.
3. Finally, I placed the key head near the ignition(did not insert) and was able start the van using the remote.

Check the immobilizer bypass. Perhaps the sensing coil wrapped around the ignition key cylinder has become open circuit or the relay inside the bypass is not engaging during the remote start cycle.

Thanks again. Is there way to identify issues of bypass by its LED light? Do you recommend buying another DBALL2 and replace it?
As manual start is functioning well, there should not be an issue with the key cylinder/barrel. Correct?

I will try this and post the results here. Also i understand that the Dball2 flash can only be done if you have dealer login. Any other options?

I tried resetting the DBALL2 by holding the press button and then insert the white plug(D2D) and waited till the orange turns red. The reset was successful, but it did not resolve the problem.
Or do I need to do the hard reset which will erase even the firmware? But in that case I will have to get it programmed again.
Not sure where to go from here.
Any suggestions?

Hi Friends,
I thought I would update all on the progress. Yes, the issue was with DBALL2 module. I got a DBALL3 from ebay and requested the seller to flash it for my van before it is shipped.
Hooked it up and it resolved the issue. Now I'm able to start it from the remote.
However, I have observe another functionalities that were working before now not functioning.
My sliding doors used to work before and now they don't. I followed the DBALL2 programing and feature options for those but it didn't help.
My horn used to chirp as a confirmation of all door locks and alarm active. But now, only the security module chirps. Even if the sliding door is open, it does works which is not good.
Looks like, the remoter starter - alarm (Viper 5204) is not well workng with the factory system.
Anyone has any clue?
