I have just purchased a 2008 F150, with the CT 3471TW installed, the fob wouldn't work at 1st, with the help of this forum I was able to get in program mode (no hood pin) and get the fob working, the doors lock/unlock I can even remote start, but only with the key in the ignition, without the key in, it will act as if it's starting 3 times and stop trying.
There is a small button with an light indicator on it, mounted on the lower dash above the hood release (I'm not even sure if it has anything to do with the CT 3471TW)
I've been searching for several days to no avail
any help would be greatly appreciated

Your immobilizer bypass is not working properly. Depending on the type of bypass used, it may just need to be reset rather than replaced. If you can locate it and post the part number, someone here can probably help you. Look for another black box that's wired to the main unit.

You can lookup manuals at the idatalink website:
http://www.idatalink.com/
http://www.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/28/vehicle_make_id/12/vehicle_year_id/2008/vehicle_model_id/61/package_type/0/vehicle_id/15005
One other thing to check before starting- make sure the ground-while-running wire is actually showing a ground if it's connected wire-to-wire and not data (when you activate remote start). You can test this at the idatalink module.
It looks like you may need 2 keys to program this.

Looks like the bypass is bad, I still need to break out the multimeter and make sure I'm getting power to the bypass, but, I'm getting no LED activity at all, so, I'm going to assume it's bad,for now.
Assuming it's bad and I purchase another one, I believe I have only 1 oem key and a clone(looks newer, doesn't have logo), which means I'll have to to use klon, would a local installer program that for me, or do I need to purchase additional cables ..etc?

might be a bad data cable.. try reprogramming/relearning after you test for power..
