2010 Nissan Frontier, Door Unlock

I just installed a compustar cs920 with an idatalink ALCA. I programmed the idatalink on their website for the 2010 Nissan Frontier. The lock button works fine but the unlock button acts weird sometimes. First press, lights blink twice, but nothing unlocks. If I press it again, it usually unlocks the doors, but not always. Sometimes it takes a 3rd press to unlock the doors. Lock never has any issues. The car does have a factory alarm so I hooked up the alarm/disarm wires from the compustar, but I don’t believe that makes a difference here. I think the unlock / lock is all handled by the idatalink. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you follow the Type 2 install diagram and connect the CS920-s Lock and Unlock wires to the Frontier as shown in the #39133 install guide? The Type 2 Install diagram is for Frontiers with the Factory Alarm system. Those lock connections from the R/S to the BCM should do both lock/arm and unlock/disarm.Soldering is fun!

Yep I did the type 2 install. I connected the orange and orange/white wires from the cs920 to the BCM. Since the remote start does the unlock / lock, perhaps it might be a programming issue? Maybe it’s an option that I can change? Not sure which option it would be for that one. I did the orange and orange/white since they indicated it was for the factory alarm/disarm from the cs920. I did test the normal lock and unlock wires from the remote start and it acted the same way. So it could be a programming issue. Thanks

There are some subtle differences between an unlock output and a disarm output. Think I would follow the Type 2 diagram and only use the Lock and Unlock outputs as shown. It's remotely possible that it's a CS920-s programming problem. These outputs are POC's and can be changed. See Page 16 and Special Option Group 2. However, these options can only be changed with the OP-500 programmer. You could try setting the CS920-s to double unlock pulse, 1-04 Opt 2, to see if that helps.Soldering is fun!

Changing to the lock/unlock outputs and switching to double pulse fixed the issue. Thank you!
