Hello,
I installed a Compustar/idatalink ft-dc3-Lc on a 2008 Ford Taurus this weekend and when I unlock the doors with the aftermarket remote the car turns. The doors unlock and the car turns on and then turns off once the doors are unlocked. To be clear the car doesn’t start but acts as if the key was turned to the “on” position. When I lock the doors or activate the trunk everything works as normal, they just trigger without the car turning on. The ft-dc3-lc is designed to work with the oem remotes so when I unlock the doors with that remote the car doesn’t turn on. Is the car turning on when unlocking normal for some system/remote combinations or is there a setting I’m missing? System details below.
2008 Taurus SEL without factory alarm
Compustar/idatalink FT-DC3-LC (remote start)
T-Harness idatastart ADS-THR-F01
Compustar PRO T11 remote 3mile range
Also as a side note all functions are working properly per the Compustar checklist, it just concerns me the car turn on when unlocking the doors.
Thank you,
Scott

It is necessary to pulse the Run ignition switch wire in order to de-activate the factory alarm system.Only a momentary pulse is required.

Thank you eguru! I feel better now!
Just curious, but is there a way to deactivate this if your car doesn’t have a factory alarm? It’s not a big deal now that I know it is normal but if I don’t need it it would be nice to disable it.

PATS can't be disabled in the Taurus.
