I have a 1972 Chevelle that I was using a Viper 5902 with a power window module in but the display on my remote died (alarm works but no picture). I know this alarm is overkill for the car but it was one I had laying around so I used it. I just ripped out my dash to redo some wiring (including I already ripped the alarm out to fix stuff) and new gauges so I have the perfect opportunity to swap this alarm. What would everyone recommend? Looking for the following features at a minimum
1) 2 Way paging with display
2) Starter Kill
3) Ability to control the DEI 530T window module
4) Control power door locks (have the DEI relay)
I do have a sniper EFI system on the car so I guess it would be possible to do a remote start by using the wait to start feature for the EFI system to boot up but I don't know how these old cars do with remote starts.
Please offer some recommendations (even if it's keep the 5902 and live with a bad display)

Well since it's an option, I'd just keep what you have and maybe find a replacement remote. It does all you want and you already have it.

Definitely keep the Viper 5900. Unless you get a super deal on an equivalent or better unit. I'd Invest in one or two more new 479 paging remotes and a DEI motion sensor

I can't seem to find a remote for much less than $200 and this one didn't last that long so I'm hesitant. I found a 5706V for $110 or I can find a 5305V for $157 I'm leaning towards one of those 2 right now. I have a motion sensor previously that I was debating if I was going to reinstall it. I do have the tilt sensor that I will keep.

Boy you werent kidding about the price of the 5902 replacement remote. WOW! You can get a whole new unit for that price. I personally would opt for one of the other two units.
Definitely install the motion sensor. Especially with windows programmed to a channel

Heres a new replacement remote for $150 on eBay if you decide to keep the old unit

Those two units are not a bad way to go considering you have nothing installed in the vehicle as of now. Personally, I'd go with the 5706v for $110. Also since you're looking at systems with less luxurious 2-way remotes than your 5902v, you can find a 7752v 2-way replacement remote for your 5902v. It's on par with the 2-way remotes of the systems your looking at so that's a possible route if the price is right.

That's good to know I can buy the non color remote for this. The 5706 was on eBay and was a bait and switch when I clicked on buy.
Can I program a new remote to the system without the bit writer?

Ignore those questions I found my answer.
It looks like I'll probably end up with a remote start system either way so what should I do with all the wires I don't need? Cut them and cap them? De-pin them? Also on the 5902 it has the 3 amp fused inputs. Since I'm not remote start (just starter kill) do I need to hook these up?
