Hello,
A friend and I just installed the above mentioned alarm on my 2001 Excursion diesel. I need to manually program it to passively arm and to extend the cranking time for the remote start. Can someone explain how to manually program those two features?
Thanks

I may not be able to assist in changing the program options with the remotes. I use a
BitWriter to make changes. That being said, here is a link to a 5305 Install Guide :
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=1339
It has the programming tables and on Page 15 & 16 are instructions on using the
remotes to make changes. Menu 1, Item 1 to Option 2 for Passive Arming.
As for the longer cranking, are you running in Tach Mode? I would run in Tach Mode
as it will provide reliable starting in any situation ( hot, cold, etc ). Below is the info
on the diesels Tach wire :
The DIESEL TACH wire is a GREEN/WHITE wire in a 5-wire harness held up with WHITE
tape behind the parking Brake release.
Soldering is fun!
