Hey everyone :)
How is everyones day so far?
I'm super confused by what I need to bring to my local auto shop (best rated for remote starter installs in my area).
They sell Compustar products, so they have this (Compustar 2-Way Prime-3), but also it comes in the bundle as this (Compustar CS1900-S)
My first question is, does that bundle have that "bypass module" I need, and is that what the black square box is? It doesnt say explicitly and I honestly dont know how these things work, if we need the remote, a box thing, AND bypass module??
I'm also seeing some people recommend iDataLink, but kn their website, the bypass modules show pictures with remotes.. I just dont understand :(
Please help lol

If the local shop sells and installs Compustar products why do you have to bring your own system?
They should have everything you need right there, in stock.
Compustar does sell some of their systems as a kit. The "CS4900-s" unit comes without a bypass
module. The "CS4900-s KIT" comes with a Blade-AL bypass module. It doesn't look like they
offer the CS1900-s in a KIT package. The black box you see in the posted CS1900-s link is the
CM900-s remote start brain module.
You will need a bypass module for your 2013 Civic along with a R/S system. Most R/S systems come
with remotes. The Compustar 2-Way Pime-3 you mentioned is just the Antenna, Antenna Harness and
two Remotes that can be added to most Compustar controllers like the CM7200-s.
While iDatalink ( ADS ) is primarily known for their bypass modules, iDatalink does have complete
systems. The iDataStart HC2352AC is one example. It is a R/S and bypass module unit with two remotes,
all in one. Compustar also has an all in one R/S with bypass system called the CSX 1900-s which
uses the CM-DC3 controller that incorporates the bypass.
If you are not going to do the install, just visit the local shop and have them explain all the
options for your car.
Soldering is fun!
