I have installed a Viper 4706V into my 2005 BMW X3. The remote start works, but I want to confirm what setting I should be using for the tachometer input. The tachometer input wire of the remote start is attached to the data link connector (OBD2 connector) pin 9 (black wire). This black wire puts out an ac signal.
The Viper 4706V has four "Engine Checking Mode" options to pick from-
Option 1: Virtual Tach (Default Setting)
Option 2: Voltage
Option 3: Off
Option 4: Tachometer
Currently, I have it set to option 1 (virtual tach) and it is working fine. Can someone confirm if this is the correct setting I should be using?
Thank you for any help.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if you have a tach wire connected, the unit automatically switches to tachometer mode regardless which option is selected in the menu.

When you learned the tach, did it just take a second? If so, you're in tachometer mode (option 4).
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
