I apologize in advance, I am new to trying to fix my own car.  Here's the issue.

When I put my key in the ignition, turn forward, I get nothing.  I believe I messed up my ignition as I took apart my steering wheel column...smart move on my part.

I took the dashboard apart and found a Vitronic Remote Car Starter underneath.  There was also a switch.  I clicked it over...car started right away..no key in ignition.  Press on break, car dies.  Is there away that I can disconnect the wire going from the break to the Vitronic remote starter and just start my car this way.  I know it's completely unsafe to get in the car and start the vehicle, but at least I could drive it to a repair shop.

Any help would be appreciate.  Desperate.  I might have to take the bus to work tomorrow...ha!

You could but the car would automatically shut off after a few minutes. These systems have timers so the car doesnt run all day it you remote start it then decide not to drive the car. I definitly would not try this idea. (just to be safe).

Thanks Caveman.  That's very important information I wasn't aware of.  I'll probably start it, clock the time that it stays on and the gauge my driving distance.  I'm within 6 to 8 miles of a repair center.

Another thought, if you're around, or someone else might know.  Can I just cut the "orange" wire that goes from the break to this box.  It's the only one I can find that seems to signal that I am pressing on the break....or do I have to remove, pull it off, etc...

Again, thanks for the quick response!

Yeah you can just cut it to disconnect it. I have to stress to you though....I do not recommend you try this to get it to a repair shop. When the timer times out the car will just completely die and you could get re-ended. Good luck though

Ford had a recall on some of their ignition switches, you might want to check on that.
