’02 Corvette...help

I am installing an alarm in an '02 Corvette. When I went to wire up the door pin switches I found something very odd and now I'm stuck. Typically the installer would use the GRY/BLK wire in the drivers door and the BLK/WHT in the passenger door. These two wires along with ALL the other wires that go to the door latch MEASURE GROUND WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED. How in the world do you hook up new Corvette door pin swithes? Any help would be sooo appreciated. Thanks so much, John

The dome light perhaps?  That would be the next step to check.

The dome light is not really an option on this install as sometimes it stays on for 60 seconds after the door is shut. Because of this when you arm the car, the alarm thinks the door is open when it is not. An update: When I meter the two proper driver and passenger door pin wires, I found that ground is feeding back UP the wire that I am supposed to use. So the car is, for some reason, supplying ground up that wire.

You've got the right wires gray/black for drivers door and BLACK/ white for the passenger door. Did you diode isolate each? Did you goto the BCM under the passenger footwell under the carpet? if you did this you should be good to go.Tommy

No, I did not diode isolate them yet. I wanted to see what other people thought first. I have never had to diode isolate door triggers before and didnt want to do it if it was not necessary. Yes, I did go to the BCM but those wires, as expected, measured the exact same with the meter as the wires tested a couple inches from the latch mechanism in the door. I cant imagine why the meter would read ground on those wires whether the door was opened or not. I did cut the wire on the passenger side and found that the side leading to the BCM read ground at all times and the side going to the latch was reading as it should have: ground when the door is open and nothing when the door is closed. So apparently the BCM is feeding ground back to the latch. Just seems like if that was the case then the interior lights would stay on all the time because the car is always thinking that the door is open when it is not?...Weird?! John
