Hello,
I installed a Crimestopper c2011rs unit in a 94 mercedes c280 about two months ago. Everything worked perfectly with no problems. About a week ago I installed a cd changer in the same car and the owner told me that the alarm stopped working. The alarm did not react to any button presses on the remote. I thought it was an antenna problem. I did not install the antenna on the windshield because the owner did not like the way it looked. It's mounted underneath the dash. Anyway, while installing the changer I relocated the antenna. Everything worked great again, but only for about a week. Now I'm wondering if it might be something else. Does this sound like a common problem? Is it something with the Crimestopper unit? I've installed several omega products but this is the first crimestopper unit for me.
Any suggestions pleae?
Thanks.
Shaun

If the EMI from the changer cable is interferring with the frequency of the alarm, it might be blocking the frequency that is being generated by the alarm system. It's a shot in the dark, but if you relocate the changer cable to the passenger side of the car , it will bypass the alarm antenna and hopefully solve the problem.

Well,
It actually started acting up before I installed the changer. I relocated the antenna and it worked for about a week. Now it's acting up again. I haven't had time to take the dash back out to see what the problem is. Who knows, it may be something obvious, but I doubt it. Another thing. Does anybody know where I can find a pocket to replace the factory tape holder in the dash under the radio?
