Just a couple of quick questions for my 2002 Ford F150 SuperCrew.

The truck had keyless w/ illuminated entry prior to installing the alarm system (APS-995C).  Since the alarm system was installed, I no longer have illum. entry.  Was wondering what it would take for me to reconnect that feature again?  Would I need a relay even if it worked prior to the alarm's installation?  If I do end up needing a relay, where would I go about finding one, and what type of relay am I looking for?

Thx- any help is greatly appreciated!

995C....that means it came from Circuit City, right? The stuff Circuit gets uses different wiring colors than tha standard Audiovox stuff. On the 995C illuminated entry is BLACK/ white----it's in the large plug that has about 20 wires in it, near one of the corners.
If you hook the output to one of the truck's individual door wires----that is, a wire that catches only ONE door----a relay should not be required.

Notes:
NOTE: Some models of this vehicle are equipted with PATS (Passive Anti Theft System). Use DEI module 555F to over-ride during remote start. *1 Power this wire if vehicle is equiped with only rear anti-lock brakes. Vehicles with all wheel anti-lock brakes do not have this wire. *2 Negative pulse, type 'B', on keyless entry models. Five wire, type 'C', on non-keyless models, mastered from the driver switch. *3 May also be found at trailer connector next to diagnostic connector under dash. *4 If equiped with autolamps. *5 The BLACK / YELLOW catches the drivers door and the BLACK/ pink catches the passengers door. The wires are found in there respective door harnesses. On the Super Crew the rear door trigger is BLACK/ lt. blue low in the driver kick panel. Use all wires and diode isolate each. See direct fax document # 1076 for wiring information. Both wires may also be found at the GEM module located above the fuse box. On models without a dome light delay use ORANGE / lt. green (-) at the light switch. *6 Arms when locked with the door open. To simulate, send a negative trigger to the lt. blue/white wire at the RAP module, located behind the light switch, while locking.    *7 Tach wire : on the 4.2L it is a dk.blue/lt.green at the coil pack on top of the motor.   Tach wire : On the 4.6L go to any of the 8 ignition coils and use the wire that is not RED / green. Tach wire : on the 5.4L it is a lt.GREEN / WHITE at the coil on the passenger side of the motor between the fuel injectors. *8 The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to "wake-up" the system refer to directfax document #1093.

Thanks for the reply, Chris-

Sorry for my newbieness, but if I'm following you correctly, that means if I take the BLACK/ white wire from the 995C and wire it to the blk/yel wire (drivers door trigger) then I wouldn't need a relay, correct?  Would this screwup the ability of the alarm system to know if that door is opened when armed?

Also, do I sever the blk/yel to wire it to the 995C or do I splice it all together (leaving the blk / YELLOW "intact" so to speak)?

Thanks again!

Hey, it's okay to be new.
Yes, you were following me correctly. Generally, the individual (driver's or passenger's) doorpin wires only draw a tiny bit of current.....then the car's body computer is what actually powers the domelight.
This is not always the case, though, and I haven't done a Ford truck anytime recently. But you can always try.
And as for your other questions, leave all of the other wiring from the alarm alone---the door trigger inputs should already be connected correctly, and won't have to be changed.
Also, the illuminated entry feature comes on when you disarm the alarm, as you probably know. And it times out after 30 seconds. But if you re-arm the alarm, the domelight will go right out again.
Not sure if I'm saying it clearly enough, but the alarm is designed so that the illuminated entry feature isn't active when the alarm is armed-----so unless the alarm develops some bizarre defect, it will never false because of this.
Also, if the alarm is violated, the domelight will flash on and off, just like the parking lights.
