I am trying to install a Lynx 2000R into a '97 Eclipse GST, manual transmission.  When I sync the remote to the base, the remote beeps a few times, the siren chirps once and ERROR flashes with DOOR showing in the bottom right corner of the remote.  I'm guessing that this points to the door/domelight relay diagram.  The antenna strength meter goes full on, and then when I press the door button, it goes to zero.  Door locks work fine via the buttons on the door.  Car starts fine.

I cut the RED / GREEN wire from the courtesy light.  (did I get the right one?)  Connected the end from the light (negative) to the 30 terminal on the relay.  The other end went to 87A.  87 goes to ground.  85 is the BLACK/ WHITE (-) dome light output.  86 goes to (+)12V.  The Gray (-) door input is tapped onto the wire going into 87A.

Is this right?  Or am I way off and should be looking at something else?

Also, I'm somewhat confused by the manual.  There are a pair of diagrams for the BLACK/ WHITE wire and another pair for the GRAY & GREEN doorpin inputs.  But the doorpin diagrams seem to contradict the previous illustrations.  What gives?  One of the doorpin pictures even shows use of the PURPLE wire, which is supposed to go to the hoodpin.  On the GREEN wire diagram it is shown as negative but in the previous table it is shown as positive.  Weird.

thanks,

jonathan

I tried taking the relay out and tapping the (-) door inout straight into the RED / GREEN dome light wire.  Same result.  Remote shows ERROR - door.  Anyone? (This is the way the previous Prestige alarm was hooked up.)

DOOR TRIGGER|RED / green           |- |in drivers kick *3
3-To avoid the dome light delay use RED / white(-) at the door open indicator at the instrument cluster. The RED / white will also catch the rear hatch.
