Hello, well I finally got the time to install my alarm inmy avalanche and have run into some issues I hope you all can help with.
The alarm is an Alpine SEC-150R with a DEI autostart and the passlok II box. The alarm is installed and working fine, with the exception of the factory disarm (I have tried taping into the lt green wire are the BCM? with a - input, yet my dome light stays on when arming), any ideas?
the larger issue is my remote start, it will turn over, yet will not stay running. I have learned the R value through the instructions, however no joy. The car starts fine with key, yet it will not start stay running. I have tapped into the wiring one the purple plug at the BCM for the passlock, I have tapped onto the org/blk wire for grd and have cut the yellow wire for the other pair.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am also interested in wiring the windows, yet do not want to have to run into the doors again (I allready have a pair on 12ga pairs in there, so it is tight) any hints.
I appreciate the help
Christian

1st part:
What type of negative input did you use to tap the wire? Are you sure you tapped the factory disarm wire(i thought the wire was lt. grn\blk)? It sounds like you are sending a constant neg output instead of a pulse. Use a volt-ohm meter to test the factory disarm wire. The wire should show 12v+ when the doors are locked and 0v when the key is turned to the unlock position in the driver door.
2nd part:
Does the security light flash in your dash when the r\s is engaged? If so you could have read the wrong R code, or you interfaced the wrong wire(s), OR the negative output you are using to activate the passlock is droping out during the ignition sequence. BUT, if the security light is not flashing, then more than likely you've gotten you acc and ign wires bakwards or perhaps missed an ign wire. If that were the case, then the truck would never start b\c the fuel pump would not be getting any power during the "crank" sequence.

OK, Thanks. This morning I was a little more coherent and able to see what is happening. The factory alarm I will have to check with a meter when I get home, THANKS
As to the remote start, when I start with the key everyhting works great. When I use the remote starter I hear what I think is the fuel pump kick over (that little vrrrgh before engaging the starter) the security light doesn't do anything, after energizing the ignition the data display shows the battery symbol, then it turns over but does not continue runnning. The security light does not appear at all during remote start.
I am starting to consider that I am not energizing the ingition wires correctly, please chack me out here. Thanks in advance.
Alpine SEC-150R Alarm
DEI 551T Remote Start
DEI 555L Passlock interface
12v constant is coming directly from the battery
12v switch is the pink wire at the column
second ignition is a smaller guage white at the column (same bundle as pink yel org etc)
12v acc is the org wire at the column
12v starter is the yellow at the column (smaller guage wire)
There is a large guage dark brown wire in the same bundle that is not used, but do not know what its function is.
Thanks
Christian

All your colors sound correct and it doesn't sound like a passlock fault. Is your alarm set for tach or current sense? If it's in current sense, the alarm my not "realize" that the vehicle has started. If this is the case, the veh will continue to try and restart and continue to kill. Set the unit to tach, follow the instructions to program the tach, and that should fix your problem. . . I hope.
