I am installing OEM keyless entry parts back into my 2001 GMC Sierra that originally only had power door locks.

Hopefully if you could tell me what I am doing wrong, I can complete the install.

I have installed the correct OEM receiver (tried 2 of them) behind the dash using the existing 3 wire plug that was taped by the receiver mounting block and replaced the factory 20A fuse with the correct relay (as noted on the inside fuse panel).

Nothing happens when I try the pre-programmed remote fobs (all 4 of them).

I tried to go thru the reprogram sequence, but I don’t get any conformation back from the receiver, almost like there is no power to it.

Am I missing a relay or other module?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks >>Skip

My new favorite tip. did you try and unplug the car battery for a few minutes.
I wouldn't be surprised if the BCM or ECU has to be programmed to accept the keyless entry. I know I have seen where fog light where installed in factory wiring and required reprograming of the ECU/BCM

I could try that (unhook the battery for a while).

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it needed to be programmed to recognize the keyless... I was just hoping that I would not need to deal with taking it back to the dealer $$$$.
