Hello all.  I am new to the forum and tried to do a search on this particular problem, but got no results.  I have installed a Clifford RS2 in my car and the alarm works great.  But I noticed that the antenna that came with the alarm was a little bent so i just switched it with another antenna from a friend that  workds at a store that carries the RS2.  I installed the remote start and keyless entry and also the trunk popper.  My problem is that i do not have very good range with the alarm.  People are telling me that i am suppose to have pretty good range with it.  I can't arm/disarm or remote start my car from more than 20ft away.  I should have a longer range than that right?  Did switching the antenna cause this problem?  Was i suppose to switch more than that or was i suppose to make brain of the alarm learn the new antenna?  Or is the antenna i have just a bad one?  Thanks for the help in advance.

how is the wire from the brain to the antenna?  It says to "stretch it all out."  Where did you place the antenna?-windshield, rear window?

as stated before stretch all the antenna cable out and do not bundle it up and place it on top of your windshied for best reception.  all antannas are same and no programming should be neccesary.

Thanks, i'll try that.  Also, is there a way to hook up my trunk popper so i don't have to hold the button down on the remote.  I just want to be able to pop my trunk without holding the button down.  Thanks

where on the windshield?  hopefully in the center.

i had a matrix rs2 that wouldnt get any reception if the car was hot.  i swapped brains and remotes and junked out the defective one.

if you can, have your friend swap the brains and remotes.  also, channel 2 is setup for a 1.5sec transmission to send and output.  if you press it less it will scilence the chirp.  if you want to use ch.4 (H2/3 violet/black (-)200 mA programable output), you can do latched, latched/reset with ignition, 30sec timed, and second lock output.  if you want to work with it from there  Clifford Alarm range -- posted image.

The antenna is on the center or the windshield.  They don't sell the RS2 anymore, so I'm SOL on that.  I'll try the ch.4 and see if I like it.  Thanks

If I want to upgrade to the matrix RS3.5, will it be hard?  Can I just take the brain, antenna, and remote from the RS 3.5 and just swap it with the RS2 and use the existing wires?

negative.  the biggest change for the 3.5 is the relay pack.  totally redesigned and its internal.  similar to an avital 4000/4200 (its also DEI).  youre best bet is to get a matrix rs3 and just order the 3.5 style remote from DEI and program it to your system.  the learn routine is in the book.
