I just bought a Trilogix AM373 car alarm & keyless entry. I want to install it by myself. Could anybody tell me what's the type Door Lock System for 2000 Hyundai Elantra? Negative, Positive? 3 wire, 5 wire? Thanks.

Eeek, I was trying to find some diagrams to help you, but the ones I found say "Add door lock actuator". Do you have power door locks? I'm assuming you do. Hopefully someone else can be more help.

this car has a five wire controling actuator in the door so what this means is when you phyisically push the lock switch closed all the doors close and so on for open,. this means that you have to add a actuator in the door so to wire the actuator it is called five wire,

to do this complete these settings for both relays

(two relays are needed.)

pin 86 and 87 constant

pin 87a ground

pin 30 output to one of two wires on after market actuator,. and other wire to other relay

pin 85 negative input from alarm system,.

as a side job i did a friend of mines hyundai elantra 2000 gls

and he did not want the actuator in the door so i gave him power locks on all doors except the drivers door and he was cool with that but if you want all four doors to lock and unlock via remote than an actuator is need in the drivers door

a thought run the two actuator wire throught the door boot and put the relays inside the car, not in the door but hey its your car do what you want,

Yes, I have power door locks. But where can I locate these "five wire"?

Actually, I have done of these cars and here is the stuff. If you have FACTORY keyless entry then you do not need to add any actuators. If you do not have factory keyless entry, then the drivers door need a actuator. The way this car workd is it has a one wire system, but on that wire need a negative pulse to unlock and need neutral (dead) to lock. What I mean by neatral is that you will have to wire a relay so that it interrupt this wire when you lock the car. In other words if you were to cut the wire, the doors would lock once. The wire is a yellow wire in the drivers kick. Setup works for this car. Let me know if you have any q's.

Thank you so much for all replys. I have done the keyless entry and shock sensor part of this Trilogix AM-373 keyless entry and alarm combo, but I still have some questions:

1. I got a negative signal when I open the door, and a positive signal when the door is closed. How can I connect the alarm to this kind of door signal?

2. I connect the ignition controlled auto door lock/unlock, but it doesn't work. I don't know why.
