Alarms shut off my engine -- posted image. Hi!

please I need help.  I've a concodrde,chrysler "96 and bought it 2nd hand with a auto/mate alarm by remote.

One day the alarm got stucked and a friend of mine move some wires around. now the problem is when I'm running the car as soon as warm it up, shut it off completely i've two little children and this is very dangerous.   I called the Micorp and they  believe is not the alarm that is a mechanical problem but this start it to happen since this   person moved those wires.  Now I found a switch in my left side and move it but still have some problem I tried to find the back box or main brain but I don't know where they can be connect it or how I can disconnect it to see if this stop the problem. I'm a single mamma and cannot spend money and also I learn fast... I'll appreciate it if somebody can give me an idea what to do..Alarms shut off my engine -- posted image.

The mechanic said is an alarm problem and the people of the auto mate said is a mechanic problem.  Please help...

try and find the brain by locating the valet switch and following the wires .now when you find the brain pull the largest harness on the brain it is usually white with about 13 wires on it. now take that harness out of the brain this will defeat that alarm and it will tell you if it is the alarm or the car. most likely your problem will stop.then after you pull the harness look at the model of the alarm printed on it and post back with that info and someone can help you further.

Hey Borikua,

That's a weird problem for sure.  First of all if I understood correctly you have an alarm but not a remote starter,  and the problem exists when you start the car with the key.  If it was the alarm causing the problem,  that would mean that the alarm has an ignition kill and not a starter kill. . . something that is not usually done.  Which leads me to think that you have a mechanical problem with the car.

When the engine shuts down by itself,  do the idiot lights stay lit in the dash?  (You know the lights that turn on at the gauges when you turn the key to ignition without starting it.)  Can you re-start the car easily?  Alarms shut off my engine -- posted image.

yes or the alarm can have a hijacking feature that is why i told her to pull the harness. If it is the alarm doing it someone had to tap an ignition but if for some reason the brain is starting a carjaling feature the car verry well may shut off. So borigua if you pulled the white 13 pin or so harness from that alarm and this problem stopped you have a carjaking feature on taht alarm or its just a bad brain. If your car still does this then it would be something do do with yyour car. NOW DID SOMEONE PUT MAYBE A FUEL PUMP KILL SWITCH IN AND YOUR ARE NOT TURNING IT ON? THAT WOULD CAUSE YOUR CAR TO EITHER START FOR A FEW SECONDS OR NOT START AT ALL.

Dear MobileToys2002: Alarms shut off my engine -- posted image.

Lemme tell ya' you was 100% right as soon as I remove the harness the problem stop. Took me a while to locate it.  I've to unscrew the left pane and below the dash.  What I see was a big mess on my wires but I leave it like that for now 'till I've the time to open again and organize it.

You don't even have an idea what you did for me, Thanks a lot it was nice of you.  Also I want to say thanks to the rest for the feedback. Wow!   Alarms shut off my engine -- posted image.

Oh just to mention my harness only have 11 or so wires no 13  but I follow up with the valet switch.

God Bless you,

Love you all!Alarms shut off my engine -- posted image.
