Well first question first.

This site says to use the Brown Red from coil another site says use the white from the ecm.  1999 hyundai accent.  Which one should I use.

Second Problem.  I recently cut the brown red and spliced with solder car then ran like a bag of dirt so I removed the splice and put it to normal.  Car still ran like crap.  Bought a new coil and still the same.  Bought an OBD2 and nothing read.  While the OBD2 was reading, the engine was in on position for quite a while and the coil pack on the fire wall side got extremely hot and started smoking.  Not good.  Can someone tell me why this would happen.  No wires were crossed ONLY ONE was cut and put back.

Cheers

Travis

As far as the Tach, both locatoins are correct, but I prefer under the dash by the ecm because it is more accurate than under tthe hood.  As far as running like crap, I have no idea about that, I have broken wires before and put them back together, and that never happened.

No wires were crossed BUT I friggen connected the shielding to the wire itself when I reconnected.  I fixed this and I am now charging the battery I hope this works.

Cheers

Most starter systems allow the black wires @ injector harness for tach if a coil wire is inaccessable. Works well if starter can learn tach signal.
