I just finished installing a Viper 550ESP in my 2000 Honda CRV and everything works great except the unit will not lock the doors. I can manually ground the lock wire in the harness causing it to lock the doors but it won't work when plugged into the alarm unit itself.
I Since the unlock works I am at a loss as to where to start to troubeshoot this problem. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Mike

Are you sure that you got the correct wire?
Are you using a 451M door lock relay set? If you are then did you ground the purple and the PURPLE / blk wires (they should be connected already coming from the factory)? If you did that, make sure it is a good ground and try that.
Remember check all your wires with a DMM!

"Are you sure that you got the correct wire?" Yes
"Are you using a 451M door lock relay set? If you are then did you ground the purple and the PURPLE / blk wires (they should be connected already coming from the factory)? If you did that, make sure it is a good ground and try that." I'm not using a relay set.
/q/ARe you trying to lock with the driver door open?/q/ I thought of that when I read your response. I have tried it both ways. I know that Hondas won't lock with driver door open.
Should I be using a relay seeing that the unlock does not need a relay and I can jump the alarn harness to ground causing the doors to lock?

Have you tested the output on the LOCK wire to be sure that it is a (-) pulse ?

Yes, always hook up relays because you might fry your brain module.  Add a relay or make sure that the alarm is really putting out a negative signal and not a positive.

According to the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual and by testing I am sure that this is a type b (- pulse) system. As far as the alarm unit is concerned the installation guide shows the the wire in question is a (-)lock, (+) unlock output. I have wired up the unlock wire, which uses a similar output, with no problems. Thanks for your help so far.
