installed crimestopper alarm/rs, got tach wire from ecm near battery, now tach in dash not showing correct rpms.
it says the truck idles at about 4000rpm, but actually
runs normal, and service engine soon light came on.
should i try different wire from coils?

Make sure you have the correct iwre from the alarm hooked up to it, and try finding the tach under the dash.
