So I have everything wired up for an add-on remote start (DEI 551T and 555C).  Everything seems to work, except that the car cuts off after about 3 seconds.  The diagnostic LEDs say that the "Transmitter shutdown" (but of course I didn't press it again).  I'm not certain that the 555C is actually programmed because the confirming beep and lights don't happen; athough putting a programmed key in the ignition at Run setting before activating doesn't help.   The strange thing is that the car will still run in valet mode when the RS is activated and you can take the key out.  I have it set for voltage checking instead of tachometer  -- could this be the problem (high or low setting doesn't seem to matter)?  I'm hoping to use it tachless, but I guess I can route a wire through the firewall for it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Does the security light on the car flash when it starts? Probably a transponder issue. Disconnect the 555c and try to remote start the PT with the key in the ignition. I have run across some dodges that won't program a key and is locked from factory.

I have the same vehicle with System Sentry and automatic trans.  I have a Clifford RSX3.5 with a 555U bypass.  I don't know the difference, but I was just wondering if your 555C is the correct bypass?
