I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500. I want to install an alarm soon, but i also want to use the factory alarm. is it difficult to do this or should I just ground the factory disarm wire to disable it all the time. any suggestions? do i need to use relays? anything that can help is appreciated. thanks!

whats the brand of the unit?
your truck has an easy reach disarm wire, use might need to use a relay. some car's disarm wire is at the door and they ground it permanently cause theyre too lazy (like me) to run it through the door, it takes forever to get the wire through the door.

i ask for the brand of the unit, cause some unit have the disarm wire built-in so you dont have to run a relay when its not necessary.
have fun!!!
