how are the new 3 series for installation of remote starts, or alarm/remote start? I've always shyed away from them, heard interfacing the transponder bypass is tricky, is this true?, also heard you need to isolate away from the parking light switch when you tag your parking lite signal from the ribbon cable, is this true?. How much more time is required to do a remote starter on these than an average domestic car. if anyone can offer their advice or tips/tricks on these cars i would appreciate it !

I recently did a 2001 330i the parking light ribbon cable isn't bad but you do have to use a relay just to break the wire , breaking it turns on the parking lights.  Other than that the by-pass is pretty staight forward, you do need a relay in conjuction with the bypass module but its not that tricky.

why do you need a relay in conjunction with the bypass module? im assuming hooked up with the keysense wire so when you insert the master key the computer wont read two key codes?
