HAving problems with the remote started on my wife's 04 CR-v. I am installing CrimeStopper 2015FM, Everything is hooked up according to the diagrams, with the transponder. When i remote start, The engine starts up, but shuts off a couple seconds later. I am using the "Smart Tachless" mode (i think) so there is no tach wire hooked up, And there is a "Factory Alarm Disable (-)" output on the alarm that i am not using, since there is no factory alarm, at least not that i know of. Is this the immobilizer at work? Is it an entirely seperate system from the key thing? Any help is appricated. Thanks!

Don't use the tachless mode on Honda's , it won't work. You need the (-) AC signal from the distributor in order for the unit to be able to read the proper signal from the car while it is running.

What bypass module did you use? Did you program it trying all 3 of the keys that came with the vehicle? Does it remote start with the key in the ignition? I always recommend verifying that the remote start will work without the bypass module hooked up, but with the key in the ignition to make sure you don't have another problem.

Actually, i don't have the transponder right now. I was using a CrimeStopper CS-TATA III universal transponder, but later figured out that one won't work on Hondas, going to get another one tomorrow. The real problem i am having though, is something else. The car remote starts just fine with a key in the ignition, but still shuts itsself down a second or two later. Don;t this this is realated to the transponder, or else it wouldnt start at all. IS the Immobilizer system seperate from the key? could this be part of the problem? Thanks again for all the advice!

Hi,  If it was the transponder the car would most likey not start at all. This is a  tach issue. Like Jeff said , dont use tachless mode.  Its great in older cars, but new cars (especially honda) ignition run at a much lower voltage and is tricky to pick up on consistantly.

Hope this helps, good luck.
