Hey guys how's it going? I have a quick question. I have a 2001 Cadillac Deville with a remote start system hooked up to it. I am trying to bypass the passkey III system with a pkg5 and everything works great except one thing. When you remote stsrt the car while it is cranking it says "Service Theft System". When the car is on the message goes away. I read on a trilogix website that this could be due to feedback from the ignition wire. Has anybody else had this problem? The solution they have given me is to cut the pink wire from the passkey III module. Then connect the pink(pkg5 wire) to the ECM side pink wire and connect the pink/white(pkg5 wire)towards the key module side of the pink wire. Does this sound correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help guys!

Sounds about right, there is dotted lines in the install sheet of the pkg5 that are used for cadilacs and a few others, they show cutting the ignition wire.

Does it actually hurt the passkey system if I don't hook it up? Thanks again!

Do you guys have a link to the install sheet that shows this? I have a new PKG5 from bypasskit.com and it doesnt show anything like that. I have a 02 or 03 Deville install coming up in a couple of weeks and I dont want anysurprises. Especially since it is out of town. At least keep us posted on your results.
Oh yeah, make sure you diode isolate your PKG5 if your (-) out when running wire powering more things than just the PKG5. it is really weird and maybe they have fixed it in the past few months, but you will experience battery drain after about a month, and then it will die every other day if you dont diode isolate the PKG5 (unless you are just powering the PKG5 alone with your (-) out when running)
Thanks, and keep us posted

Here is the address for the manual:

You can also go to www.freetech.info for tips on using the pkg5. That is where I learned to use the pink and pink/white wires. Apparently only Cadillacs may need these wires.
I have already diode isolated the pkg5 because after one night the battery died and then I realized I forgot to diode isolate the pkg5. I am going to try the iginition wire on Thursday. I will keep you guys posted.

Does anybody have an answer if it actually does anything bad to the car if you don't hook up the PKG5 pink and pink/white wires? Thanks again?

Hey guys whats up? Well the pkg5 is working great. Everything works perfectly on the car. I say if anyone is having trouble with a 2000+ cadillac with the theft system, just use the pink and pink/white wires from the PKG5. No more "Service Theft System"!!!!! Thanks again!

on the topic, is the PKG5 the same as the AUT-gmd7?, these are what i use, the do ALOT.  They control the PK3 or Passlock, doorlocks, trunk release, oem security disarm, heated seats, rear defrost, and heated mirrors.  This is the best box i've ever used, it controls just about every GM vehicle.  Just wondering, it's new and i've never used them until yesterday, it made the install idiot proof.

No, the PKG5 is only a PK3 bypass. Where do you get your AUT-GMD7 modules from?

Importel or even Sobel Imports, they seem kinda Mickey mouse but they provided some serious stuff. i can get Fishman supplies, Metra, PIAA, Toucan, Varad, Marksman, diesel audio.    They are by far my favorite distributors.
