ive got the avital 4300 in my 03 monte carlo ls.the alarm part works fine, its the remote start that sucks . it works sometimes, then not others.push the remote button and its goes through the motions then nothing.no click  from the starter either.changed the tach wire to the purple and white, worked good for a week.then back to crap. do i need to run power directly from the battery ?the shutdown dianostic says low or no rpms.  someone please help!even my co workers are stumped.

I would ask you to do a very simple test first. Use only the tachless *voltage* sense, and see what happens.
If it starts and runs fine, then the original tach signal is bad.
If the tachless mode does not make a difference, compared to the tach mode, attatched to one of the primary wires.
Then I would ask you to make sure the vehicles electricals are indeed sound.
ie. Is the battery / alternator OK? If in tach mode there must be a voltage increase for this to work.

ive done two recently that ive used the white at the coil and they have been fine.  are you sure the brain is learning the tach properly?  i havent heard of any tach problems on the new avital units and chevys, but avital does have problems on fords.  DEI to me to go to the injector on fords now.
