Hi,

I'm hooking up a remote start to my '92 Integra. For the tach wire,

it says it's the blue wire at the distributor. Ok, that's fine, but

I would like to possibly find it inside the car. Someone told me I

can use the blue wire behind the tachometer in the car, but I can't

get the gauge cluster out, and I don't want to break anything. So,

I was looking at a big bundle of wires behind the driver's knee panel,

(where I also found the parking light wire) and I found a blue wire

in there. I stripped it a little, and tested it with a DMM. When

I revved the engine, the reading on the DMM went up, and then down

when I left off the gas.

Is this my tach wire? Or could another wire act this way? THANKS!

If you set the DMM to AC and and place the red lead to + and the negative to the target wire and rev the engine and the voltage rises as the engine revs.... then you have the correct wire. The reason why you can't get the dash out is because the 1990 - 1993 Integra has a cable speedomter not electronic so there is a large white clip in the back of the instrument cluster that the cable hooks onto. You have to tilt and angle the panel towards the passenger side of the car and reach behind the dash and unclip this white plug from the panel.
