Just for fun.....

What is everyones favorite alarm or remote start combo to install?

Consider things like ease of installation, reliabiliy etc.

I like the Ultrastart 2250... nice "basic" remote/alarm.. guess instillation is just about the same on all of em.. they all have there up and downs... have had 1 factory defective since i started using them... no comebacks cept maybe a retarted customer.. no biggie.

i have used a ultra start for the first time the other day....went pretty smooth...the siren was bad (brand new unit).....but most are the same......i have used the omega line most of the time.......im about to use the new one they have..the Max with the Echo transmitter....i will post a reply on how it installs and operates.................

The only experience w/ omega is that I have done some K-9 alarms and i like the them. I want to find an alarm with plenty of onboard relays. This would make the install much less time consuming.

Jumperable onboard relays would be bad ass... neat idea... negative door lock/unlock needed? place the jumper "here" 5wire reversal? place jumper "here" positive pulse? "here" 3rd ignition output? connect grey wire. Bypass unit being installed? use "these" wires for your power/trigger .... better yet... Transponder/passlock/ect .. plug loop in here.... sit transponder "here" or flip "these" switches. mebbe a bit much.... but would be awesome to have an all inclusive model

have you ever installed a code alarm power elite 7600, beleive it or not it has a lot of the features you talk about. to go from positive to negative door locks you do just slide the fuse over. to run 5 wire locks you just butt connect the switch wires in because they are on board, the alarm has one wire for the door trigger, you just program the brain to positive or negative, it has aw built in wire to be used as a 10k pull up for the computer in the cadalliacs. and it does have a plug in port for codes modules for vats, pats and transponders.

Code Alarm all the way.

Ignition 1 = Built In.

Ignition 2 = Built In.

HVAC 1 = Built In.

HVAC 2 = Built In.

+ Door Locks? = Built In.

- Door Locks? = Built In.

5 Wire Door Locks? = Built In.

Trunk Pop? = Built In.

5 Wire Trunk Pop? = Built In.

Driver Door Priority? = Built In.

Bypass Plugin? = Built In. (Certain Ones)

Dome Supervision? = + or - Built In.

Programming? Easy as it gets.

Tech support? Great.

Need I say more?

i have done about 150 code alarm/ford units and have had 4 bad, that is unacceptable to me, but working at a dealer i have to do them. onboard relays and all that other stuff do not mean a thing if you have to take it all back off because of product failure. i usuallly convince the customers to go with pursuit/audiovox instead. and yes i know audiovox owns code alarm.
