Code Alarm makes a model called the ca-410, its a remote start that works off hte factory remote. The only thing you need to make sure is that the keyless works while the vehicle is cranked. Real easy install, write back if you need you more info.

You may wish to purchase a remote starter that uses it's own remotes, as the factory remotes may only work from 40 feet or so. Most remote starters also include the circuits to control the factory locks and have ranges from 400 feet and up.

I just installed a Valet 561R in my 1999 Gmc Truck. It has the capability to use the factory remote to start the engine. Can be programed to 1or 2 or 3 pulses. I left it set at 2 pulses (it is connected to the door lock trigger) sso when push the lock but twice the horn toots and then it starts. Push the lock twice again and it shuts off.

Sparkie said it best, what good is a remote start that you have to be right next to the car to use.  I highly recomend an aftermarket remote start.

I've even used a Bulldog Remote starter from Wal-mart to achieve this. They have one for about 45 bucks that has the aftermarket input to use with existing keyless entry.
But for a bit more I would also recommend the aftermarket system which has much better range. Of course some people just like having the original remote and like the fact that noone knows it has a Remote Start system installed but them. Either way you go, make sure you power up your 2nd ignition with another relay or you will ruin your transmission by not powering up some of the onboard systems needed. You also need a bypass for the Passlock system. Good Luck.
