I made a previous post regarding self installation of a DEI Valet 554R system.  The local car audio shop sells Astrostart systems, they said that they may be able to install the Valet system for me, but I would have to bring it in for them to look at.  These guys are good, quick, and inexpensive.  The problem is I have not purchased the system.  I have a problem making purchases, I need to know that I am getting the best.  With most of my purchases it is easy to do some research on the net, but I cannot find much info on car security/remote starters.  So here comes my question, should I go with the Valet system or have the local shop install a Astrostart system?  The Valet system advertises 1000ft while Astrostart advertises 2000ft.  Anybody have an experience with the range of these or any 2-way remote system?

it seems like youre interested in the range. DEI have a very limited range comparing to other companies.

Definately go with the AstroStart, you will not be disappointed with it it. Range, features and reliability are all excellent. I have never accurately measured the distance on the AstroStarts, but I know it's good. What models do they have?
