2002 F-250 Interior Light Illumination

I'm installing an Avital keyless entry system and can't get the dome light to come on when remote unlocking the doors.  I am connected to the BLACK/ lt blue door trigger (+when door open, 0 when closed).  The installation manual says the white wire connects to door trigger and the WHITE/ black to a 12V+ for positive switching.

I can hear the module click when the lights should turn off (30 seconds) but can't get the white wire to carry a + charge.  Anyone run into this before?  I took the cover off the control module to make sure there wasn't an internal fuse but there isn't.
