03 eclipse install problems

Hey, Well I finally went about installing my Clifford Solaris mitsubishi eclipse G4 Alarm in my gt today. Upon testing, the alarm will not arm via remote. I checked the batteries with a multimeter and they measured 11volts(which is where they are sposed to). I checked the antenna connnction on the extended range receiver and it seemed solid. I checked the fuses, none of them blow. Everything in the car works fine mechincally sound. I went over the wiring and can't find anything wrong. I put it in valet mode and tried to reprogram the remote but when its time to push the button on the remote, it won't chirp(meaning it isn't getting the signal). Anyone got any troubleshooting tips or ideas? The solaris manual was really bad about troubleshooting. Thanks, Adam

Hey, By passivly I'm going to assume you mean via the arm alarm after ten seconds? I didn't test that because it was late and now I'm back at home just trying to gather information for tommorrow to troubleshoot this monster. Also, my buddy put in a 30 amp fuse in the 5 amp fuse holder by mistake but when the alarm didn't arm all the fuses were good and I replaced it with the correct size. You don't think that would have to do with my current problem? Thanks, Adam

From your first post, are you saying that the CPU never confirmed that the remote learned the code ? Jeff

That is correct. It never confirmed it received any signal from the remote.

Go through your programmin gof the remote control once again and just to be certain, get a Duracell battery in the remote control and try the steps. Post your results.Jeff

Well, I think I may have miswired something and or the antenna is bad. I checked the antenna port on the brain with the multimeter and it read 5.1 volts. Checked power and ground and changed all fuses, nothing. I did passivly arm it and that worked. Of course, I couldn't disarm with the remote so I had to via valet switch. One thing that was weird is the auto arm didn't wait for the door to be closed, just to be opened. I checked the door trigger connection and everything seems sound so I'm stumped on that one. Is there another antenna that dei made that is compatiable with the clifford solaris g4? Thanks, Adam

Changed battery, still a no go.

Fixed, it was a bad antenna. Just replaced and everything is good to go except one thing. The auto arming feature doesn't wait until the door is closed, it flashes the lights to warn you once any door/hatch has been opened. The only thing I can think of is the door trigger is messed so i will look at that tommorrow. Any other ideas? Also, whats a good spot to mount the wireless immobilizer? Thanks, Adam
