I hava a Valet 554T installed in a 94 Blazer Full Size. The system has been working fine till the other day. I RS the vehicle but when I tried to disarm the alarm nothing and the remote indicated I was not in range. None of the remotes buttons seemes to work. Once I got in and cut the alarm off everything works, but if a RS the vehicle it acks that way again. Any info would be nice.

I think you might have heater blower noise problems. Keep the blower speed at low rather than max and try it that way for a while. I use an RF meter in cars at times and the blower motor noise can be 3dBm below the transmitters output at 434mhz - not good.

Ok I may have the solution just by acident. I have my program switch hooked up as a ghost switch. That switch is my aux. backup light well I got in the truck tonight and turned them on and backed up. Well when I left the store and remote started the truck I was able to unlock and disarm the truck. So far I have tried it twice and everything seems to work. I was wondering if anybody else has there program switch wired as a ghost switch andhow has iworked. I plan on tring this for a few days with out using my lights and see how things work. If all works well I guess I will move switch, but would like ideas where to wire it to.

I have experienced this too although I do not have a ghost switch. Big Dog, can you explain a little more about the noise...

Gary when you remote start do you have any controlls working from your remote. The last few days before I used my ghost switch I was noat able to do anyhting after I remote started my truck. I could not unlock pop the rear hatch, turn off remote star or anything with remote. What kind of problems are you having?

What kind of RS do you have? Reason I ask is because I have the same problem with my car ONLY after trying to disarm it after remote starting. My remote does however still work but I have to hold the buttons down very hard and hold them longer. I thought it was some sort of safety feature built into the system in case you had your remote in your pocket you didnt disarm it or stop the RS operation by accident. For the record my system is the Omega Max.

I am having the same issue as both you and fullforce. I sometimes have had to hold the lock button down for 10 to 15 seconds before ttrying unlock then it seems to work.

I tried experimenting this evening with different things and found the blower motor hasn't had an effect but if the stereo is on, that seems to cause some problems especially if it's on an am station. I will try some of the additional features and see if that is affected also. When I RS with the stereo off, the problem does not occur.

I'll keep you posted.

Looks like my problem is fixed. The other day when I backed up and turned on the lights which is my ghost switch. After that everything went to working. I am not sure what caused this but I plan on taking my ghost switch off of my backup lights and make it a seperate switch. If your alarm is doing this I would start the car with the key and hold down your program switch for about 30 sec to a minute and let go then see what happens.
